Question in Uniblue SpeedUPMyPC

My PC has gradually gotten verrrry slow.
Someone suggested I try using the Uniblue Speedupmypc program.

Has anyone had any experience with the program.
Is it a reputable program that can be trusted?
Does it really help out?
Is it worth US$29?
I have Norton Systemworks and question if this progarm can do more than the Norton one??

And yes, Ive checked my DMA and defragged my HD.

Any help or advice on this program, or on another one that can diagnose and fix why my Pc has gotten so slow would be much appreciated.

1. NO un-necessary startups (per URL above) A REAL PERFORMANCE GAIN
2. Clean out the registry
3. Use CCleaner
4. Set ALL the options on your computer for performance
5. Clean-up the hard drive for un-necessary folders/files
6. Clean out the remains of software programs you thought you removed years ago.
7. Clean install on all update software programs
8 Set your computer to show all hidden files and remove hidden remains of software programs.
9. Remove any programs you don't use anymore
10. Remove all temp files
11. Remove all internet temp files
12. Set the BIOS for performance
13. Remove un-necessary cookies and keep the cookies needed for faster loading
14. Some filtering programs like ZONEALARM will actually slow your loading programs down.
15. Defrag every day
16. Check the hard drive for errors every week.
17. No more than 5% use of your hard drive for restore points (keeps hard drive clean for backup)
18. Delete ALL LOGS to me they are almost useless except for Imgburn
19 Check for virus every other day
20 Use HIJACK THIS for hidden unknow items and remove


This computer is actually faster than when it was new, because I have remove all the un-necessary things that slow it down. All freeware except the registry cleaner JV16 Power Tools.

Unfortunatley, you think i know more then i do, so while your list of things to do is impressive, im not sure how to do them.
I guess i need the things to do dummies, or a prog that will do them for me.

norton's is part of the problem, uniblue will make it worse

My PC is an HP Pavillion 734c. Its about 6 yrs old.
OS is windows xp sp2
Intel Pentium 4, 2.40 ghz
1 GB ram
80 GB HD, that is about half full.

then go into msconfig and disable these crap intel drivers
