Agreed.
Some of the new features are nice as well as the pages seem to load faster.
Looks like their trying to clone Firefox a bit. One thing I have noticed is I need to use compatibility most quite a bit. Even here at DVF. But it is nice there is an easy to use button by the address bar. Not worth uninstalling yet.
They are on the right track for an improvement from IE7

Like when you type in the URL you get a lot cleaner drop down with recent, auto complete suggestions, history, etc. You can also have sites recommended determined by your use. I like the new search bar, it can search basically any engine, by simply clicking the bar and if you have them loaded just click whichever engine you want. You can search Wiki, NY Times, etc., with a simple click.
There is one quirk I have, like when typing this message in quick reply, I have to move and keep my pointer on the increase/decrease size button to keep the slider on the right side, but this may be solved by using the compatibility option located in the URL bar, I don't know haven't tried it.Comment

Well you do now have the option of deleting individual URL's from the address drop down. It now has a little red X next to the address. This way you don't need to delete your whole history.
Also you can import your bookmarks from another browser. It does however put them in a separate folder as Firefox does.
Here is some additional info about IE8 new features.

Have they still got the ability to have an address bar in the taskbar? I ask because SP3 uninstalled this feature and it required me to reinstall an old version of browseui.dll in order to restore this functionality.
