    Anti-Spyware

Of all the free anti-spyware software programs out there, which one or ones are considered the most effective? Thanks.

Hi ahgute. I'll help you w/this one w/my experience. Spybot w/sd helper is a very good anti-spyware. Together w/a nat router and a firewall and safe hexing/surfing you should be ok. A suggestion is to check out our anti-virus and spyware thread which will definitely give you a whole list of experienced proven programs by all or at least most of the veterans in the forum. Play w/the search function a lil bit. I usually click on view posts.

If you still have any ?'s then just post them and you'll be taken care of. Another suggestion would be to read the forum rules so as to facilitate your process regarding any concerns.

Aside from virus and spyware removal apps, if you are running a 32 bit OS
I'd recommend you check out Sandboxie. When programs running "sanboxed" think they are writing to the HD the writes are really going to the sandbox folder. Very neat program. Only gotcha' is if the device driver doesn't like your machine. If it fails to install try a different version. There are several available for download.

I have recently come across and found effective at detecting and removing virus from computer that is www.dangerouslink.com.
              Please go for this.

I use these two software programs and a firewall blocker

AVG 8 (custom settings) update every day
                  malwarebytes update every day

If you are concerned about dial-up internet line speed droping with AVG 8, using custom settings you can decrease the amount of resources AVG 8 uses.
