    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

    While doing a search for remnants left after deleting a game from Give Away of the Day
    Immortal Defense. I keep getting the following message while doing the search.

    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe.
    This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please
    contact the application support team for more information
    O.K.

    Please help I'm not sure where to look or what to do.

    explorer.exe is the Windows shell. Try logging off, then back on. If that doesn't do it, try reboot. The shell doesn't always let go of dlls the way it should. If you can't delete all the files because the shell won't let go of them try Unlocker freeware.

    Worst case scenario is usually you end up with just wallpaper on the desktop.
    In that case just do Control-Alt-Del to log off. Then there should be an icon to restart the PC. Once it boots again you should be good to go.
