    No Sound With Power DVD

I know it's not my sound card etc because I get sound with other things suck as playing music, I hear a click when I click on a link and DVDs have sound with all software except for Cyberlink Power DVD 8. It was fine yesterday. I've checked its volume and it's on full, I checked the other settings and they seem fine and I've reinstalled it and still no sound. Does anyone know why the software isn't playing sound?

    Many thanks.

Are u installing Power dvd thru a disk or a dowloaded version?

Although I would guess that if all things are equal meaning your dvd's have ALWAYS played fine on Power dvd and they play fine on things like Windows Media player etc then I would do a clean re-install again meaning:
Uninstall Power dvd thru control panel [add/remove programs] and re-boot the Pc before re- installing the software again..

It sure sounds like Power dvd is not shaking hands with your sound card.
why it actually stopped working is anyones guess but if as said above that Every other software plays your audio then of course PDVD is the problem.
Obviously your sound card is working ok but if the re-install doesn't work then by all means re- install your sound card drivers again then re- install Powerdvd one more time..
[any additional info would help like are you playing an original dvd movie or a backup..] and have u tried other dvd's...

Mine is a copy from my hard drive that I downloaded.

I did do the reboot but nothing worked it off.

      Many thanks, again.

I would get another copy of Pdvd but a disk copy instead as files get corrupted on a hard drive easier than on a disk.

I use Power dvd also and always use a disk to re-install when the software gets buggy..

Many thanks for the info. I must say, I'll wait until the next edition is out because I just paid for mine. I'm going to contact CyberLink and see if I can get my money back. For all I know, they might have a glitch with the currant edition.
