    Outlook Express

I keep having a pop up occurring that at the top of the box in the Blue Box it says B
Outlook Express then the body of the message says
To free up disk space Outlook Express can compact messages. This may take up to a few minutes.
then it gives two choices in boxes
    OK. or Cancel.

At the side of the box is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it.

How do I keep it from appearing.

I don't even use Outlook Express!

sounds like that application is opening on your machine, maybe starting automaticaly when you launch explorer or start up your machine. Outlook express is set to compress after a certain number of closes. so snoop around in the settings for outlook and whatever browser your using and see if it is launching some how. answer yes to the pop-up and should be good for about 99 launches/closes. You might try tweakall, helps to spot invisible applications

      In outlook express
      TOOLS
      OPTIONS
      MAINTENANCE

Then clean-up your disk space on the maintenance page
That will clean out and reset your counter

The best way is to get a good registry cleaner and clean out all the dead items you have in your registry from years gone by.

Thanks Ed, What really surprised me by even seeing the message is that I have never even used Outlook Express. I recently reformatted my entire C: drive and did a fresh, clean install of XP Professional. I did however check the information you just gave me and there is only one message in my Outlook Inbox WELCOME TO OUTLOOK EXPRESS. There is nothing else in any of the other folders either.
