Yes, that is correct. That's exactly what I'd like to do (which is save the data). The reason? Well, I save all my iso.files to dvd versus placing them on a hard drive. Cheaper and secure. I have a nice little 600 disc suitcase I file them into. BTW- Blutach, thanks for all your help with DVDRebuilder. Works beautifully!!

Now I would be just guessing. I wasn't aware of the limit of the other file systems.

I would try making your file system UDF after reading this from the build guide

UDF is a file system in it's own right and does not depend on another one also being present.
UDF supports long / mixed case file names and does NOT have the 4GB file size limit of Joliet and ISO9660.
It is the 'better' option for those people using up-to-date operating system. I say 'up-to-date' because older ones like Windows 95 and 98 cannot read / understand the UDF file system and will probably report the disc as being corrupt if that's the only one on it.

I would still use the build mode and I am understanding what you are trying to do.

If I had any DL media I would test it myself.

That's fine. But what is the advantage of burning as data-dvd(with the .iso image) instead of DVD-Video(from the .iso file) ? Both will take up same amount of space in the DVD (unless you have small sized files in which case you can store multiple images in the same DVD ).
And as I said earlier, try to build an image of the image. What happens then ?

If the OP has small .iso files to save as data maybe the burning program's confusion could be avoided by just zipping them up? Of course we don't know the details of the OP's purpose in doing this.
