Problem with Trend Micro

So I have trend Micro 2008 internet security installed on my system and for some reason it is blocking my facebook as well as gmail. Well blocking isnt the right work, I can get on the sites but thats it, if I try to click a link or add pics, or even read an email it just freezes and sits there for a really long time. When I shut off trend micro everything works fine. I have searched the faq's on the trend micro site as well as googleing the crap out if to no avail. I have gone through all the setting and there are no sites listed in the blocked sites and I have both facebook as well as gmail listed in my trusted sites. Does anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like it's gotten corrupt, you don't have any other security programs that might be conflicting do you, duplicate protection?

the only other program I had was Malwarebytes anti-malware, I have just removed it and am going to try a re-instal of trend micro

nope that didnt work either, I am thinking it might be a problem with java, says its working in FF but doesnt show in in IE, nothing but problems since I went to IE8, FF3 and put the trend micro on...

Consider it a blessing! Facebook is insidious! (I know this is of no help to you mate).

I would try to roll back to IE7 if possible and see if you still have the problem.
