      And people have done that. And were usually caught and suspended.

      They caught me for installing a program... but luckily I wasn't trying to do anything bad, I just didn't know we weren't allowed to install programs.

      As far as the Internet goes, they have a transparent proxy so regardless what browser you use it's pretty much impossible to get past the filter (apart from using CGI proxies and stuff)

      I think, though, that disallowing USB would just be stupid for the school. There's ultimately more people who want to use USB drives for good reasons than people who want to hack, and I say by all means allow USB drives.

        If the students are using usb flash drives, there is no practical way to limit the function of the usb port. I do not think that there is a way to do that.

          Well the computers at the public library used to just disallow access to My Computer and they disabled the USB drives in Device Manager. And they got tons of complaints from students trying to do homework.
