anti-static strap to grounded outlet?

Wondering if anyone came up with anti-static wrist strap that has a tip to stick in a 3 prong grounded outlet instead of the alligator clip?

Seems like it would be a no-brainer to have a prong that you can stick into a grounded outlet instead of the clip thingy. Anyone seen one?

Those anti-static wrist straps are a pain in the butt. An anti-static bench mat is a lot less of a pain. Either way you could replace the alligator clip with an eyelet connector and connect it into the outlet cover plate screw in a properly(wired) grounded outlet making sure the screw is not painted so it makes a good ground.

Thanks for the idea. Seems to me years ago I had one of those banana clip plugs like you plug into a multimeter, and I just connected a wire to it. It was the perfect size for sticking in the ground hole of a 3 prong outlet. But I don't have that kind of junk hanging around now.

Some of the better static straps, use a nice metal watch style band. Which has a snap on the band to connect to the static mat. Then to the ground with a banana style connector.

Sounds good. I open up boxes so infrequently I can usually fake it but I'm just curious more than anything.

Just touch the unpainted part of the case and you should be good to go.
