    shdocvw.dll and Possiblity of Spyware?

    Hi folks,

I downloaded PDFConvert from GAOTD the other day and every time I try to run it or to install an upgrade during trial ... I get an "Alert" that the program is trying to "Modify" the "shdocvw.dll" under System 32 folder.

I searched the web ... but I am not able to find a straight answer if ...

Q1: Can "shdocvw.dll" be used as a Spyware?

Q2: Can a program Modify this DLL?

Q3: Am I too paranoid about this DLL?

    Thanks,

    G!

Important: Some malware camouflage themselves as shdocvw.dll, particularly if they are located in c:\windows or c:\windows\system32 folder. Thus check the shdocvw.dll process on your pc whether it is pest. We recommend Security Task Manager for verifying your computer's security. It is one of the Top Download Picks of 2005 of The Washington Post and PC World.
Windows 10/11/7 doesn't need shdocvw.dll. Click here to know if shdocvw is safe and how to avoid shdocvw.dll errors.

I'd delete that PDFConvert from GAOTD.
They tried to Assimilate me and failed!
