Windows 7 versions... options may change with final release...

so i was checking this and found they made ultimate and professional almost same only thing different between 2 are...

    Backup to network
    Encrypting File System (EFS)
    Domain joining

these belongs to professional version... not available with premium version

BitLocker and BitLocker to Go belongs to ultimate version.

so they really make ultimate a highly non wanted version for most.
anyone wanting domain will go with professional and will have everything frm premium unlike vista.

so unlike vista windows 7 gave non ultimate versions a boost.

ofcourse final product may comout different

    Hi atifsh,

Have you heard anything about the operating system default mail options?

I know up until W7 they were standard, but now W7 says that I need a special setting or something like that.

My default is yahoo mail, and I used to click an email link and it would open up my mail, now it wants me to set it up.

Hmmmmmmm seems like there's getting to be some buzz what with fake RC1 downloads. Supposedly when RC1 is out the license will last over a year. Would be worth putting on then I think.

Heh. I subscribe to HP Business Forum and at least 30% of the questions are "need XP drivers" or "how do I downgrade to XP?"

Things are plateauing though. Most of those subject lines no longer have the **** out swear words!!

@Abuilder I just started using RocketDock today. Very Cool. Plus the Superbar and a few other gizmos makes it fun to use the slow PC again. At least I'm rid of that slow explorer copy syndrome.

The critical ones that will popup the week after 7 final is released. Just like every other version of windows.
and where is bloat u find in 7?
Do a quick google for XP 75 MB Edition
With this version you can install xp in less than 2 minutes using only 256mb of ram. The entire install takes up 610mb. when in use the entire OS uses up 24.10mb of ram, and the whole thing boots up in 12 seconds.
                          That is none bloat.

what beta OS ppl actually used for main PC's?
Anybody that uses Linux. By the time a final comes out the next version is already brewing.

i say striped down... leaving some or more functions that the orignal xp has..

was talking bout windows versions from 95 to vista, which were this stable tobe used on main pc's while in beta stage... i say NIL.

I wonder if there will be 64 bit and 32 bit versions or will there be just 64 bit offered by MS.
