Outlook 2003 crashing on exit

This has started happening for the last few weeks (maybe a windows or AVG update did it) and happens every time (except on Shutdown of the machine). I exit Outlook and I get an access violation error and sometimes an offer to send a doctor watson report to M$.

Anyone else getting this and how to cure it? It's just an annoyance really but I'd like to fix it. Happens on my laptop, too.

Depends on what the exact error is.

Can you post the message here?

For starters though, I'd do a repair installation in any case and see if that works.

Well, I'd prefer not to remove my resident AV. Anyone else with AVG experiencing this?

@Wombler - it's just an exception error. Memory leak, by the looks. There's also some events in the event viewer about Outlook faulting in msmapi.

Faulting application outlook.exe, version 11.0.8217.0, stamp 480f95d9, faulting module msmapi32.dll, version 11.0.8200.0, stamp 472f94b0, debug? 0, fault address 0x000144d8.

Could well be. Mind you it could be almost anything.

These sorts of errors are notoriously difficult to track down.

Blu would have the clues as to what changed, I suspected AVG since it protects email and has frequent updates, having 2 computers with the same problem should narrow down the pissibilities.

I would say it has to be .net framework update to version 3.5. My laptop bombs out and will not update. I am not having any problems with outlook express.

Probably took me longer finding that than it'll take you to do it though.
