    Anyone use Roboform?

I've recently started using Roboform - password manager/form/address filler, etc. Anyone here use this? I am kinda "iffy" on using pgms. such as this which stores personal information on the pc...

I've done some googling on it, and all the stuff I read pretty much gives it good reviews, security is supposed to be good with it. What do you all think?

I tried it myself for a short time. There were some things about how you have to use it that made me feel I didn't want to pay for it. But I think you will find some long-time users on DonationCoder.com. Also there's likely to be some who don't like it but I know there's at least one thread there about form filler tools.

      Hi Miles,

      Thanks for the info.
There were some things about how you have to use it that made me feel I didn't want to pay for it.
      What do you mean exactly?

I wasn't really intending on paying for it if the free vers. works out okay.

I am concerned about the privacy/security aspect of it. You can even input your banking info. into it so it will fill in the blacks for you when you do your online banking. I am not sure I like that feature...

It's been awhile, so I can't remember the details. I think it had to do with hotkeys to fill stuff but my memory is vague. Best bet would be to monitor an argument between people who love it and hate it. I think it's been over a year since I tried it. What I did as alternative was make a program to encrypt Opera Wand personal info in the .ini file. Just so it wasn't in plain text when not being used. (Opera 10 seems to have broken this by using different files so I took it off.)

I don't trust credit card numbers and all that to some software(at least not to leave it sit, to buy stuff online obviously you have to send the info.) If you have so many financial things going on that you can't possibly remember then perhaps there's no alternative. For non-financial stuff, like board logon passwords and IDs I use FireFox Secure Login. It works pretty much like Opera Wand. It outlines the input if you have the id/pw saved and you click a Key button to log on.
