    Media Player Classic 64-bit?

OK, so now that I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 I'm trying to install as many programs as possible in native 64-bit.

Well, I downloaded the "home cinema" build of Media Player Classic, and I noticed something weird. With the 64-bit ffdshow installed (and iTunes/QuickTime), every time I open a MOV file with it, I get an error about QuickTime not working in x64, but then when I close it the video plays perfectly fine anyway.

So I was wondering... is it possible to disable that message? it just adds an annoyance...

And there doesn't happen to be a 64-bit one that's just called "Media Player Classic", is there? I can rename the shortcuts but I can't rename what the title bar shows...

    Hi Drf,

Have U tried the 32-Bit version to see what happens! BTW, sometimes the 32-Bit flavors are still better ... for one like "MediaInfo" ... becasue then it will show up in your Explorer as a choice to open a Video File!

    G!

The error msg should say something about a download from Microsoft. I don't use them for anything(the downloads) but after I installed them the annoyance popups went away. Just download the stuff it mentions.

It doesn't mention any downloading, it just says QuickTime for x64 isn't available yet.

But it clearly works fine since I have ffdshow and iTunes/QuickTime installed...

Ok, you're getting a different nag dialog than I was. Apparently this is some kind of open source development thingy with plugins or something. All I know is once I downloaded the stuff it nagged about it worked. I'm using it on Vista64 Home Premium. Don't know if that makes any difference.

Why not simply use WMP12, Shark Win7 Codecs & the following:

Why would anyone use Windows Media Player?

The whole point of using MPC is to NOT have to use WMP...

You have no idea. Have you tried WMP 12, either 64 or X86? Right now with Shark, it's one, if not the best player around. As long as you uncheck certain boxes when you install, you should have no problems. I don't even bother with VLC or MPC on W7. Did you even check the link & read.
