    Instant boot windows 7 + new phoenex BIOS



    its a bios feature and will be available later on new pc/laptops.
    would love to find bios updates for older systems...
    Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!

    I wonder if HP will release it for the laptop I just got. That would be excellent to boot in to windows in less then 10 seconds.

      The only problem is what happens if you need to boot from a CD or change BIOS settings? You'd have to have the reflexes to press the buttons in less than half a second... LOL

      My Intel BIOS only takes about 2-3 seconds to get into the bootloader, as far as Windows booting up I think that's solely hardware based. And because I also have Ubuntu it goes directly to GRUB, not to Windows.

      Also, what's with the Vista-style green loading? Windows 7 has the one that actually SAYS what it's doing... did they make some custom hacked version of Windows 7 or something?
