When I got my HP, I had over 100 windows updates to do on a very slow DSL connection. It took for ever to get the updates done. I am glad that was over with. I have vista 64 bit and got the upgrade to 64 bit windows 7.

I like to buy HP with at least SP1 on. Then unless it's something bugging me that is fixed, with no reports of systems being hosed, I don't download any fixes.. and certainly not automatically.
With my AMD dual core machine I suffered a moment of weakness. Got Vista before SP1. I've been paying for it in aggravation ever since. Luckily I can run W7 evaluation to side-step the problem for awhile.
My laptop has an AMD dual core with 4 gigs of memory. It had vista sp1 64 bit. It has been rock solid have had no problems what so ever. I also have the free windows 7 upgrade ordered and I also bought a upgrade for $99 too. My wife got a laptop from the union but did not qualify for the free upgrade. It was bought earlier this year.
