Reinstalled XP lost programs

I had a problem with my Dell Latitude D 400 wireless laptop, froze,rebooted several time's, still froze. I installed XP with a disc I had over the factory install,(no disc came with it), now I cannot get on the net, disabled all the devices listed as "other devices" in Device Mgr., Ethernet controller,Video controller etc. etc. Any way to get back operating normally? T.I.A.

The computer CO no longer send the recovery disks with the computers any more too cheap. They have a program on the computer so that you can make the disks. What you need to do is call Dell and order the recovery disks. The disks should have the correct drivers. That is why you are having problems the XP disk that you used does not have the drivers for the Dell computer you have.
