    Transfering Music In My IPod

I'm having problems transfering music in my iPod. When I use Windows Media Player, I don't see all my music albums and when I try to transfer what is listed, I noticed my tracks are all in the wrong order in each album and some tracks, I have two copies of them.

I tried iTunes and it asks me to register and when I do I get a credit card payment form. I don't want to pay because they don't tell me how much the cost is and when the payment will be taken. That of course is for paying for music to download but I'm not interested in that because I have enough music of my own in my hard drives. It's as if they want to charge me for what I already own. I must add, one time when I clicked on Import your CD's, a window finally came up and Import was listed but I shut it down by accident. When I click on Import you CD's again nothing comes up. When I said the window finally came up, that was because it never worked at first duing about twenty attempts and it's not working again.

    Can anyone help me?

    Many thanks.

I believe iTunes is essentially free. They ask you to register with a credit card (I assume) just in case you purchase... they then have your cc info on file. There is no monthly fee... at least on my account.
Having iTunes on your system will then let you import your music from your collection and then sync and add music/videos/pics etc, to your iPod.

    Hope this helps.

I would de-install iTunes and start again. Install Itunes (you don't have to give CC info). It will scan your PC for music - otherwise click File and select Add file... or Add folder... then Browse to where your music is. Once you've loaded your music, connect your Ipod, iTunes will detect it and ask if you want to Sync (which you do). The music from iTunes will then load onto your Ipod - voila!

Thanks for all the info that was given. Things worked.

I hope it's OK to ask. How do I transfer music from my iPod back into my PC? With some of my albums, I had to spend time chaging the track titles, artists' names and album titles and I'd like to know how to back them all up in my PC encase I want to take some albums out and replace for other ones or encase I need to restore my iPod.

        Many thanks.
