    The Best Free Anti-Virus?

    What's the best free Anti-Virus? I need one that scans everything with a good deep scan. Avast used to but since they upgraded, their Anti-Vrius isn't scanning hundreds of GB's worth of data where it could be giving me false results at the end due to it missing out so much in a deep scan.

              I installed AVG on a few friend/family's computers a while ago mainly because it doesn't come up with a pop-up advert/notice on startup.

                  I am using Microsoft Security Essentials, I have had no problems, and it has blocked crap from websites that were ladened with spyware.

                      Sorry about your issues with Avast.
                      I am a dedicated user here after AVG and MSE didn't block malware for me well.

                      I will be honest as I have never tried Avira.

                      Are you not having luck when you go into settings to scan whole computer?

                      Also boot time scans are wonderful with Avast.
