cffmon

Everytime I boot up a laptop, I get something popping up each time about cffmon that's in the location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Components\cffmon

This never used to keep on popping up so why does it now. I looked it up on the internet and some people say it's a virus and some say it's Spyware. When I looked at the file up close it says it a Microsoft Daily Drivers Updater except Microsoft was spelt with zeros insread of "o's". Microsoft was spelt as MICR0S0FT, not MICROSOFT. Is this file OK to delete or shall I leave it there?

I removed it following the directions without any problems.
The trick is you have to unregister some ActiveX controls or dlls otherwise it just keeps coming back.
Follow the MS removal instructions if you don't want it running.

From what the web site says, removing it can cause problems with Office.

Hmm. That was for Ctfmon.exe not cffmon.
Very limited info. Have you run Malwarebytes in safe mode?

Any info I have seen has been saying spyware/virus, but not from a recognized credible source.

I also use Super Antispyware. It is also freeware.

If I search using Everything Search for cffmon.exe on my system I get nothing. ctfmon.exe turns up an exe file. I think it's a typo. Esp. since searching for cffmon with scroogle gets 0 hits.

The "problems" with Office are accessibility issues. That's what it's for. If you don't need any accessibility features you don't need ctfmon.exe.

You can always make a restore point before doing the removal procedure. If stuff gets weird then do the restore.

I never missed it. Then again, I don't use Office anyway.

Sorry, it was my fault, I thought there was only one file under the name of ctfmon. The file ctfmon.exe is the one I've asked about.
