Lost Snipping Tool

I have suddenly lost my snipping tool from windows 7, since AVG found some virus/malware and cleared them. I have searched in windows/system32/snippingtool.exe, where it is usually stored, and have since run restore, but can't find it.
No files have been lost, can anyone help me recover it please.

If you go to Control Panel -> Programs -> Turn Windows features on/off, the snipping tool is part of the "Tablet PC components". You could try disabling this option, restart, and then re-enabling it, to see if the tool will be reinstalled.

If that doesn't work, then you can download my copy (attached here) and put it in the windows\system32 folder.

Thank you very much, but I'm not having any luck with it. Windows/system32 won't let my out it there. Alan

Another thought, Can I run revovery without loosing any data? Alan

You'll need to be in an administrator account (or have permission to access one) in order to put the file in there I think. You would need to extract the file out from the ZIP file first, and then find the "Windows Explorer" program (using the search function of the Start menu), right click on the Windows Explorer icon and select "Run as Administrator". This then runs Explorer in admin mode, which gives you permission to access most folder. Then, with Explorer in admin mode, copy/move the Snipping Tool file to the system32 directory, it should work now.
