HD DVD is getting closer to the point where it is worth considering purchasing. Since it's backwards compatible with DVD, think of it as a high end DVD player (which will actually costs more than $299 for sure). The number of movies available on HD DVD and Blu-ray are both disappointing though, as is the price of the movies.

I think I could pull the trigger at around $199.

If they pay me $199, I will pull the trigger. Of course I would rather support one of our own on this Forum, so if blu-ray comes up with the $199 first, I will take their money.
