Intel is a HD DVD backer, but it's hard for any of their products to only support HD DVD, and not Blu-ray, since in terms of CPU or GPU acceleration, you can't accelerate one without also helping the other since both HD DVD/Blu-ray use the same subset of video compression technologies. If Intel is to stay allied to HD DVD, then expect some sort of promotional campaign about their new chipsets/CPUs being "HD DVD Ready" or something.
