The folks over at Wal-Mart have followed up their boffo $98 Toshiba A2 HD DVD player with a pretty impressive overture for Blu-ray. Buying an 80GB Sony PlayStation 3 this Saturday will also get you 10 Blu-ray movies for free, as long as all the titles are below $30. (Go to the Wal-Mart holiday shopping site and click "Preview Saturday's Specials.") That's in addition to the five Blu-ray movies that Sony gives new owners with a mail-in rebate.

Wal-Mart now giving away Blu-ray movies--with an 80GB PS3

I think the offer is still going on in the US and Canada:
Australia has a similar offer, but it does not extend to the PS3:
Here in Australia, all I got are 3 free Blu-ray movies (there's no selection, just Spider-Man 3, Ghost Rider and Casino Royale - luckily, I haven't seen all 3 movies yet) and the free Blu-ray remote (which I must say, is very nice) with my 40 GB PS3 purchase. This was a limited store/Sony promotion, so a lot people missed out as well. And it still cost $AUD 688, which is like $USD 600!!Last edited by admin; 25 Nov 2007, 03:47 PM.Comment
