    Nintendo pulls Wii Christmas ads

Nintendo has been forced to pull ads for its Wii console because demand is already too high to meet stock available.

Anybody else think Nintendo is deliberately not producing enough stock just to fuel the Wii-craze? They didn't have enough stock last Christmas, and you would have think that a year is enough time to get things sorted (especially if they are manufacturing it in China, which can increase production capacities quite quickly and cheaply).

That is not surprising at all. How convenient there is a shortage at Christmas time. When stores got there allocation of wii the allotment was anywhere from 20 units to a max of 40 that is it. Nice way to keep the demand up for some time to come.

This happened with DDR Mario Mix, and annoyed the crap out of me... they still never made more (even though they told me they were going to when I called to inquire) and they still sell used for over $100.
