Wii stocks dry up (Australia)

Australian stores are facing a possible shortage this week of Wii games consoles, as worldwide supplies dwindle in the lead-up to Christmas.

I have a Wii console that is hardly ever used now. I got it for $AUD 400, I'm willing to let it go for only $1,200 if anybody is interested

I got mine at Target, they had literally 400 of them come in... and I saw about 15 go within 5 minutes.

But all I had to do was call Target when they get shipments in (every Saturday for consoles) and ask if they were getting Wiis.

To bad you dont have GH3 to go with it admin you could make a good profit GH3 sold for 9k alone on ebay

People in the UK should try and source stuff from Australia, since our stock situation with Wii and GH3 is not as bad. Not sure about US and region limitations though.

I know somebody that sold their used PS3 60 GB (Aus. model, so no hardware emulation for PS2) for $USD 1600 just recently. Who are all these crazy people paying crazy money for items that will most likely be on sale just after Christmas, or a $1000+ premium on the PS3 just for the PS2 compatibility when you get get a brand new PS2 for like $100.

As somebody that already went from store to store looking for the Wii last Christmas (and found huge stocks available just after), I can't say I have too much sympathy for the people that are going to miss out, who've had a whole year to grab themselves the console.

thats just dumb...Nintendo came out in the late summer and said there would be a shortage of Wii's, and that if you wanted one for xmas you should buy it as soon as you see it,.,,,which is what I did, got it the same day I got my ps3..now I am kicking myself that I didn't buy a second wii that day...I could be rolling in the dough right now

The way to get a Wii at best buy, is to pickup the Sunday paper on Saturday, and look at the ad to see if the ad has the Wii advertised. Then get to the store early and wait in line.

I don't get what's up with DDR for GameCube and Wii, and GH3... I even called Nintendo, they said they were making more DDR Mario Mix, and surely enough they never did. Backorder or just plain BS? You decide...
