According to a recent report by the DigiTimes, which cites Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) newspaper, Pegatron Technology, an OEM subsidiary of Asustek Computer, has won the order to make Xbox 360 consoles equipped with a Blu-ray Disc drive.
Just a note that we've heard all of this before, and Microsoft has continued to deny it.
If a Blu-ray enabled Xbox 360 is going to be available, then I suspect it's more than just the disc drive that would have been updated ... look out for a new processor, new GPU and quieter, cooler Xbox 360 (more like a "Xbox 540", although not quite a "Xbox 720"). For the record, MS has never denied that a new 360 build will be on its way this year with enhancement to the GPU (code named "Jasper") which will make it cooler at least, if not quieter.
