Gamers gouged - Australians pay too much for games

An investigation into video game prices has found that Australians can buy software for less than half price by importing.

The Xbox 360 blockbuster BioShock for example, is $109.95 at EBGames yet it's just $48.57 including postage from the Hong Kong online retailer Play-Asia.com.
Online and offshore is the cheapest place to get your fix, says Jason Hill.

That's true of England too. When I went to London with the marching band, I stopped at an electronics store (I forget the name of it), and the prices were pretty much the same in pounds as they are in dollars (as in, we'd pay $50 for most games, and they pay £50.)

Of course, importing it means you'd have to use a FreeLoader or something... but they pay literally double the price. I paid £30 for a DS Web Browser (because at the time it hadn't been released in America)... and then when it was released here it was only $35.
