Rumored iTunes Music Subscription: $130 Per Year

An anonymous tipster seems to have contacted several Mac rumor publications with rumors about an unlimited music subscription within iTunes.

    -- snip --

The rumored subscription would only include half of the songs in the store because offering music under a subscription plan requires a new deal with copyright holders.

Subscription plans are one good way to fight against piracy, I think. Paying everytime you buy something, even small amounts, tend to make you nervous. Whereas paying a once off fee is better psychologically for the buyer.

I think free in general is better

But seriously, I do like things such as Yahoo! Music Unlimited (Shame that had to shut down, I loved the numerous 30 day free trials I used of it )... though I think $130 is a high price, especially since it'll only cover half of the library and iTunes doesn't even have that many good songs (They CLAIM to have the most, but a lot of them are redundant - the same songs on compilations, etc... and some of my favorite artists still aren't on the iTunes store but are on Napster, Rhapsody, etc.)
