Wii game piracy about to get very easy?

A video posted on TehSkeen.com, and reproduced above, demonstrates what looks to be a very simple solution to running pirate Wii games.

The article says this hasn't been proven to work yet. I would think it has been tried and proven to work by now?

Probably still in the testing stages. Nintendo will clamp down on this one real quick I think

They tried to, but ultimately there's nothing they can do.

As far as I know, you still need a modchip to play burned DVD games, though you can use emulators and stuff without one.

I have the Homebrew Channel up and running (Which has some nice apps like an mplayer that can play videos and music) with the current Wii firmware that supposedly blocks stuff like that.

Apparently a beta version of this tool is now floating around somewhere. It requires Twilight Princess + Homebrew channel and that's it. Not linking to it for obvious reasons.

I see that You Tube has pulled the video off their site.

Looks like one of the beta testers leaked a beta to the public, it ended up on trackers so for retribution waninkoko is walking away from the project. This seems to have upset the gaming community and they are attacking the tehskeen.com forums/website.

And the guy that produced it has now declared it a an 'abandoned project' presumably because the beta was leaked.

                    Yeah, I have Homebrew Channel...

But really, it's Nintendo's own fault. If they made games that were actually WORTH PAYING FOR, it would be one thing. But there's a trend here... with both the Wii and the DS... there were some pretty good games when the systems came out, but they went down the drain in a hurry. I don't think a decent DS game has been made since Pokémon Diamond... that's worth more than about $5.

And they act surprised that people are pirating their games? Come on Nintendo, add 2 and 2!
