Blu-ray prices in free fall: Get a player for under $200

Our most recent watchlist of Blu-ray players reveals dramatic price drops just in time for the Christmas shopping season. Average U.S. retail prices for most mainstream Blu-ray players have dropped at least 20% over the past 45 days and if you are patient, you may find a name-brand player for just a few bucks more than you would pay for a high-end upscaling DVD player. With movie prices dropping as well, it appears that Blu-ray is positioned to gain much more traction than it has right now. Is it too late?

If you do get a Blu-ray player for under $200.

MAKE SURE the Blu-ray player will play HOME MADE compliant Blu-ray structures built on BD-5, BD-9, BD-R, BD-RE.

If the player won't play all types of compliant Blu-ray structures home made and commercial the player is useless. (another form of copy protection)

Blu-ray Players, specifications and release dates for new and upcoming Blu-ray Players, including Blu-ray Player reviews and much more.

At the above website, plug-in the options you want your Blu-ray player to have and see if your choice can do what you want it to do.

Even though it will be under $200, I think due to the economy the sales will not be as good. I think that the blu-ray players will be considered a luxury item, which will be very low on the priority list.
