Admin they took the site to your link off. Said it wasn't available. $25 million is like .00000025 to these guys. Tell you the truth I saw that 160gb thread on ps3. Going to read it. See what's it about. I was going to post about a larger gb storage player and decided to search first. I know WD came out w/something also. I guess there's a few around. I'm new to this neck of the woods, but it's exactly what I want. Something to put my collection in and view whenever I want instead of my computer. I'm close to that 1tb in videos, but something's something, and only matter of time before they add those limits.

You can easily replace the HDD in the PS3 with a custom one, and all without voiding the warranty (the instructions are on Sony's website).

It's better in my opinion to have an external storage device with network connection and UPnP support (or USB, if you can place it near your PS3 and your computer) and store the data in that. It's portable, easy to replace, probably has some kind of file mirroring system to ensure data integrity.

I would never store anything on the PS3 because I've had to get it repaired/replaced 2 times now and each time, you either have to make a full backup or lose all your data (unlike when repairing the Xbox 360, Sony tech support won't let you remove the HDD).

Thnx. I must admit though that the price is still off the charts. I don't game as of now and would most likely would only use it to watch movies or w/e else can be done online w/it. I have to study the options on these kinds of equipment like ps3, Xbox 360, and so on, then make a wise informative decision. I am definitely liking these players that can store files so you could just pick one and watch it on your set. Maybe soon when I have time I'll get the svideo cables and anything else needed and hook up my pc to my tv in the mean time.

Sony has its good and bad points like everything else, but the prices as of now are off the charts.
