Here are the settings to access your e-mail messages via POP3:

POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)
POP SSL required? Yes
User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example yourname@hotmail.com
Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live
SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25 or 587)
Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)
TLS/SSL required? Yes

Does it only work for hotmail or any windows live account (eg a yahoo.com mail account)?

suppose to work with all live accounts, not so sure bout outside of hotmail/live/msn/vista.aero accounts

It works with my msn account. I had to install Windows Live Mail as outlook or windows mail gave me an error message that free hotmail accounts were not supported.

Now it works great for POP3
