EA learns lesson: No DRM for The Sims 3

Not looking to repeat that fiasco, EA has announced that its upcoming The Sims 3 -- another hot title -- will not carry the same DRM restrictions. Rather, in an announcement posted to EA's website, the company said it would include only disc-based copy protection in the game. You'll have to type in a serial number when you install the game (and I assume you'll have to have the disc in the drive whenever you play), but "there will not be any online authentication needed."
