YouTube Will Provide Full-Length Movies and TV Shows, Free of Charge

The site is expected to announce Thursday that it has made deals with a number of the major studios, including Sony, as well as CBS, Lionsgate, Starz and the BBC. Several minor players will also be providing long-form content, according to knowledgeable industry executives.

It'll be ad-infested I'm sure... also it seems to cause hell for my DownloadHelper, shame, they actually figured out how to stop leechers.

But they're bad quality FLV, there's no HQ option like with most movies... and that stupid "turn off the lights" feature still leaves the ads there burning your eyes out. Thank God for Ad Muncher. Good idea, but they're not doing it right so far.

Wow. No commercials on some full length TV episodes. I was able to see the pilot of Charlie's Angels, ad free.

I am sure there are many more like that, just have to look for the ones with the "right" player.

This will be worth spending some time on.

Well, a lot of them (especially the old movies uploaded by studios such as MGM) didn't have any ads before the movie like Hulu does, but it had these ugly ads above the description... directly to the right of the video player. (Thank God if you make it fullscreen it goes away - or you can use an ad blocker like I do)

Oh, Ad Muncher blocks video-embedded ads from Hulu and such too so I don't even notice them YouTube shows/movies are nice, but I want higher quality...

Believe it or not, mine was mp4, which is definitely a step up.

Not the best. but better than flv
