Judge orders Microsoft to stop selling Word

On Tuesday, a judge ordered Microsoft to stop selling Word, its flagship word processing software and one of the main components of the Microsoft Office System - namely part of Word 2003 and Word 2007. This also now extends to Word 2010 which contains the same feature set.

Finally, they realize that Word is like the same program whether you're using 97 or 2007... so why do they keep rebranding it? I like the look and feel of Office 2000 the best and have never had anything that I couldn't do in it... so whether or not the newer versions supposedly have more features, I've never actually seen anyone USE them...

wrong, its not about word its about xml thats what they are using more these days. they want word altogether gone from any suite or standalone.

other thing is its really hard to argue with u when it comes to old programs

I have open office which is free. It is very nice program and easy to use.

They already settled for $200m on some other matter with them. Chances are M$ will take them over soon to get them out of their hair. The other company has gotten real wealthy using the legal system but sale of M$ Office just keep on going. But, there must be something in it for a US court to judge for the plaintiff.
