French President Sarkozy, a proponent of the three-strikes anti-piracy measure, may himself be a bigger pirate than all of the people he plans to punish under his controversial anti-piracy measure.
According to the French paper Le Canard Enchaine, Sarkozy got out his DVD ripper tool and made 400 copies of a documentary about himself to give out to diplomats after the 50 legitimate copies given to him by the publisher ran out.
And even a doctored cover jacket was made, with the publisher's logo photoshopped out and replaced by notes indicating the DVD was produced by "Service audiovisuel de la presidence de la Republique" (President's AV service).
And this isn't even the first time the president has been caught pirating stuff - at one of his rallies, he had used music from the band MGMT without permission.
