Get ready for yet another HDMI version, as the HDMI Consortium will meet in January to discuss bringing out HDMI 1.4 to support 3D TV broadcasts.
HDMI 1.4 is set to be launched in early January at the CES and will feature built in Ethernet capabilities and an audio return channel.
Several 1.4 compatible devices will be launched at the CES, it is unknown whether these will support the to be added 3D specifications. If they do, they will support most, if not all, of the 3D techniques currently being utilized.
