The controversial UK Digital Economy Bill (DEB) is being rammed through parliament, without debate, after MPs were pressured by interests groups such as the BPI, FAST and UK Music.
This has angered UK voters, so much that over 10,000 people have written to their MPs demanding at very least a debate on the issue.
The DEB, if passed, will ban users from the Internet after only suspicion of illegal activities. It will be similar to the French "three-strikes" system, which in the few months after it has been introduced, has actually managed to increase the rate of online piracy.
