A Danish anti-piracy group has called child pornography "great" at an event organised by the US Chamber of Commerce.
Saying that politicians can more easily understand and responds to the problem of child pornography, the anti-piracy group has suggested that this "card" should be played in order to get politicians to approve tougher laws to help protect music industry revenue.
"Child pornography is great ... It is great because politicians understand child pornography. By playing that card, we can get them to act, and start blocking sites. And once they have done that, we can get them to start blocking file sharing sites", Johan Schluter of the Danish anti-piracy group said at the conference.
There is no data that notes child porn is any worse on file sharing networks as it is on the wider Internet. However, it appears the entertainment industry is willing to exploit the issue so they can ensure their profits do not continue to fall, getting politicians to pass "three-strike" type laws that do not even address the issue of child pornography.
