The RIAA won a summary judgement against file-sharing service LimeWire. The lawsuit file originally filed in 2006.
The judge ruled that the parent company and the founder of LimeWire were guilty of copyright infringement.
Legal experts say this does not leave much room for the LimeWire operators to manoeuvre, and that they will have to shut down or face massive damages claims, which could amount to more than $450m.
