Copyright Law Firms Suing Each Other For Piracy

The US Copyright Group and the Media Copyright Group are locked in a legal battle over the the USCG's trademark claim on the name "Copyright Group", suing MCG for having too similar a name, as both companies are in the same business of suing for copyright settlement.

Earlier in the year, the USCG had been caught copying the website of one of its competitors, CopyrightSettlement.com, including using images which even contained the phone number of the other company. The USCG operates a similarly named website, CopyrightSettlement.info.

In any case, MCG has filed for declaratory judgment against USCG as they believe USCG, related to the law firm Dunlap, Grubb & Weaver, do not have a claim on the term "Copyright Group", which both companies share in their title.
