Aralia Systems has devised a night vision monitoring system for cinemas, partially to root out camcording pirates, but this new system is mainly designed to monitor cinema-goer's emotions. The movie watcher's responses could then help studios market their movies better.
Of course, some will object to the fact that, after paying quite a lot of movie for a movie ticket, they then lose their privacy as well. It's one thing to stop pirates, but to become human test subject for the marketing team of a faceless corporation? That may be one step too far for many.
