People working in Hollywood is traditional left leaning, but the people who run the studios may very well see the Midterm elections, in which Republicans recorded a landslide victory, as a major victory of their own.
The good news starts with Hollywood's major backers, especially in the war against piracy, all being re-elected, including Democratic senator Patrick Leahy, the co-sponsor of the controversial Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act, which also received wide Republican support.
Also good is the Republican's pro-business stance, as a former MPAA exec noted, this "should be good for the movie studios, especially when it comes to protecting intellectual property".
It appears that the only guaranteed winner in the Midterms may have been Hollywood and content owners.
