The RIAA and MPAA have been increasingly involved in a crusade against online piracy, so much so that they've decided to join forces to form a new partnership agency tasked with fighting the trillion dollar problem.
The new agency, named the Copyright Respect America Partnership, will focus entirely on political lobbying and intimidating ISPs to solve the age old problem of online piracy, which the RIAA says has cost 150 million jobs in the US alone last year.
The RIAA and MPAA will now concentrate more on their traditional duties, such as setting technical standards for audio production and distribution, or in the MPAA's case, ensuring movies that use curse words are given the age appropriate rating they deserve.
There are already plans to extend the Copyright Respect America Partnership to overseas, with cooperating agencies such as Australia's AFACT given a Overseas League Associate status, signifying the ever greater cooperation between international agencies.
