Sony has just announced that the PlayStation store is officially back online, back for the first time since the entire PlayStation Network was downed on April 21st.
This makes almost exactly 6 weeks since the PSN went down, six long weeks in which PS3 owners found out that their personal info and possibly even credit card numbers have been stolen as part of the PSN hack.
On the official PSN blog, Sony announced the return of the PlayStation Store, the last major part of PSN to return after a much needed security overhaul.
The blog also lists all the missed updates to the store during the outage.
What's still missing is the "Welcome Back" package, with Sony promising that after some final testing, the free games and services as part of the package will be available "soon".
