Cost increase was inevitable.
Still a great value. Now you pay for what you use. I will more than likely drop the streaming part. Hardly used it.
Thanks for the info

I did the streaming bit a few times just to see how it worked via my laptop and HDMI connection..
looked ok but not real High def /Plasma viewing which I am used to.
All the "play it now movies" are older movies that we have all either seen already or are part of free movies you can view on most cable tv packages... Nothing remotely new.
not really worth close to 10 bucks/month unless you have been living in a cave without tv and missed everything " from Titanic" on...
I'll stick with 2 at a time rentals.
price isn't bad concidering....
then again, redbox is even better if one is close by.Last edited by rago88; 14 Jul 2011, 12:54 AM.Comment

Is Netflix doomed??
more on netflixs money troubles.

Netflix just signed a new deal with Universal, so perhaps it's a case of studios trying to squeeze more money out of Netflix, because most of them sold the digital rights to movies quite cheaply to Netflix (or third parties) at the start:

studios trying to squeeze more money out of Netflix
I think your right there...
Also, movie people prob did not realize that netflixs streaming was going to turn out to be as popular as it has become....
The RIAA missed there chance years ago and should have embraced Napster instead of killing it because then today they would have been making a killing all along....they did not have the vision to see where it was going...
The MPAA have been neglient or slow on the draw to embrace this way of entertainment distribution also...
they still see $$$$ signs for box office receipts and disc sales which are always there but maybe not forever....
Also feel the MPAA are not satisfied making billions and either want it all or make everyone pay thru the nose to use "there" product...
when you compare "movies" to things like food, shelter, water, jobs, roof over your head etc, there really not that important in life...
It's just that the media and entertainment God's just make you feel that movies are as important a staff of life that needs replenishing as food, water and air.....
"semi-exagerated view but not that far off as hundreds of people I know live, breathe movies, gossip mags, and what favorite stars eat for late night snacks......Last edited by rago88; 15 Jul 2011, 01:14 AM.Comment
