Steve Jobs, the mastermind behind Apple's iPhone, iPad, iPod, iMac and iTunes, has died, Apple said. Jobs was 56.
Apple did not reveal where Jobs died or from what cause -- though he has endured a battle with pancreatic cancer in recent years.

I think a lot of people, me included, expected something like this to happen when Jobs resigned, because someone as committed to his work has Jobs was, wouldn't leave unless there was no other choice.

And whatever you think of him, you can't deny he was a genius and really really good at what he does. A terrible loss to the IT industry.
