I know that there are lots of P2P filesharing programs out there, but what ones will (On average) have the best rips of movies and not have fake names? What Programs provide the best (On average) speed?
KaZaA vs. Emule, what's the difference?

Kazaa (fasttrack network) is known to have amazing speeds when it comes to downloading, but it comes at the expense of fake files, bad filenames, and virii. However, every network has those, its just that on kazaa its easier to catch a virus.
As for EMule, it is an open-source program based on the edonkey2000 network. Since it's open-source, it can search for files from many different servers. Edonkey however can only search for files on the server to which you choose to connect to. So, in other words, emule is faster and better at finding sources for your files. A warning though, you have to get used to emule as it starts off slow at first, but after a few hours you will get speeds like or better than kazaa.
And for the movie rip, to get files that aren't fake and usually very good quality, i sent you a pm with some links of these sites which index files for the networks.Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

Spyware add's .dll files to your computer that broadcast your geographical location. and maybe some personal info. Adware add's unwanted add's that pop up out of no where even if you aren't on the internet and might install unwanted programs (such as spyware)Comment

I have moved this thread to the off-topic forum, since this post is not about the main topic of this forum, which is digital video/audio.
I have clarified the P2P forum rules somewhat.Last edited by admin; 5 Mar 2003, 05:50 PM.Comment

Does the installation of Emule involve installation of unwanted spywares and such? I'm not particularly fascinated at the idea of having spyware infestations in my systems.
